High Country Quilts will be closed thru 9.26.21 - Happy Yellowstone!
High Country Quilts will reopen at 10AM on September 27, 2021 following an extending teaching vacation in the Badlands, Grand Teton NP, and Yellowstone NP.

New COVID Guidelines will be in place at that time.

Enjoy the rest of your summer - stay safe and be healthy friends.

New COVID-19 Guidelines will be in place in September.

If you have had a a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, you are more than welcome in the shop, however going forward masks are needed.  Otherwise we ask that you please get one of these vaccines before coming to the shop to help minimize transmission of this virus.  Please understand, this is also my home.

The "call ahead" policy will continue - make sure you get confirmation.  It
very important in making this work, it will help me space our valued customers allowing for cleaning of the cutting and checkout area between customers and limit the total number of customers in the store at any one time.

Having said this, please come - we are open and the mountains are calling.

High Country Quilts is a different kind of quilt shop - a destination, for sure.

We carry a limited number (about 2,500 bolts) of quality, 100% cotton fabrics, unusual patterns and kits, a wide selection of threads for piecing, machine embroidery, and mixed thread arts, quilt batting and a variety of quilting and sewing notions.  They are all best in category products that will be available through the years - those that you can count on getting more of if need be.

Our pricing structure is designed to offer quality products at the best price, so that you can experience the difference between "shop small" quilt shops and catalogs or the big box stores.  For that reason, and the agreements in place with suppliers, you won't see prices posted anywhere except at the shop and we do not ship or sell on-line.

We now have quilts - beautifully crafted, gorgeous fabrics and designs with permission to sell from the pattern designer.

We accept cash, personal checks, and Credit or Debit cards using Square Plus - you pay the fee.  There is a minimum one yard cut on all fabrics on the bolt - unless we are helping you build a quilt kit.  This is how you can help keep our prices low.

The shop is located in the Tennessee High Country of Southern Appalachia.  We're on High Country Road, Dry Hill, Butler, TN, off US-321 very close to the TN / NC state line.   We can be open, Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and Sunday, 1pm to 4pm - think "by appointment only".

Classes are offered at the shop on request, you need only two or three for a class.  Our large group classes are offered at the new Fellowship Hall of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, who graciously share their facilities on the lake with us.

If you plan to stop, please call.  Check the Directions link for driving directions.  You can also locate us on Google map as High Country Quilts.  We strongly suggest you use them as GPS and other internet-based mapping systems and are notoriously inaccurate in the mountains. When you call (phone number is on the Contact Us page), we'll confirm a time, help you with the questions about our location, give you a road conditions report, and if needed, stash Bailey and Cabot, super-friendly, giant-breed Newfoundland dogs in the house.

See you soon!
